I knew it would be like this, most of thoes people dont care about N.O., the housees they live in now are probably a crap load better than the slums they were living in so why no just sit on there asses and collect a check like they were doin and live in better house that we "good' citizens are paying for. On the other hand if it would happen around here it would be the same. I have always said that if a tornado would go through some of the places in this region (use your imagination) the state would finnaly do out of debt because the main occupation of some people around here is wlakin to the mailbox once a month and goin to walmart to buy there "youngins" some pork and beans to live off of for the rest of the month so that they can buy there cigarettes and ride their four wheelers and live off of our money knowing that they are perfectly able to get a job but just do not want to put forth the effort.

What do expect to happen when you live 13' under sea level in a hurricane zone, was bound to happen eventually, and is a good indicator that you need to move the town elsewehere just look at Grundy it took a while but they got it and finally moved that place out of the middle of the river.

What amazes me is the number of people living there that did not have flood insurance. You cannot tell me that all those people did not know they were not below sea level or something. You've got to be plain stupid to live 13' below sea level in a hurricane zone, that close to the ocean and not have flood insurance.

Most of em had it, but the courts ruled that the Hurricane was an act of god and it nullified the insurance company's liability the way I understand it.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
Most had hurricane coverage. The insurance said the damage was done by fllod waters. Hence why most are [censored]. There are lawsuits over this.
